2 cups flour
1 cup sugar (plus additional for rolling)
2 tbsp baking soda
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tbsp cloves
1/2 tbsp ginger
3/4 tbsp salt
1 tbsp anise seed (optional)
1 egg
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup molasses
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350° F
- Combine and mix all ingredients
- Roll mixture into little balls, then roll balls into granulated sugar. Flatten slightly with a fork (they’ll flatten more while baking)
- Bake in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until the top of the cookies begin to crack
