Causa de Tuna

Ingredients

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]35 ounces (1 kg) mashed potatoes
1 cup minced yellow spice
1 lemon
2 cans tuna, shredded
1 medium onion, diced
2 celery sticks, chopped
1 cup mayonnaise
Olive oil[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]GARNISH:
Parmesan cheese, grated
Black olives, halved
Red pepper, cut in thin strips
2-3 hard-boiled eggs
Lettuce leaves[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]

Directions

Boil the potatoes, peel and crush well. (or use mashed potatoes). In a bowl, add pepper, salt, and the juice of half a lemon. Knead the potato mixture until a homogeneous paste. If the mashed potatoes do not bind well, add a little oil and knead again until desired consistency.

In another bowl, place the chopped onion and celery and season with salt, pepper, and the juice of half the lemon. Add tuna and half a cup of mayonnaise. Mix well.

In a rectangular glass dish, place half of the potato dough and spread across the bottom of pan. Add the tuna mixture and spread across the base. Finally, cover base with other half of potato dough.

GARNISH:
Put remaining mayonnaise on top layer, along with grated Parmesan cheese, black olives, red pepper, and boiled eggs (cut lengthwise into 6 slices). Lettuce can be put around the glass mold.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
