A bread (or buns) recipe from my Great Aunt Riva, likely originally used in school cafeterias!
Riva’s Bread or Buns

2 1/2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp instant yeast
4 tbsp butter, melted
2 tsp salt
4 c flour
- If using dry milk:
1 2/3 c water
2 1/2 tbsp dry milk
- If using regular milk:
1 c water
2/3 c milk
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in the stand mixer. Use the curly thing (max speed of level 2) to mix everything together. Dough will be pretty sticky.
- Put dough in a greased and floured loaf pan. Cover with towel and wait impatiently for it to rise and become loaf-like (about 4 hours!).
- Bake at 375 until golden brown.
