Apple Pie

Ingredients

6 cups apple, sliced (used honeycrisp)
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 425°. Peel apples and remove core, cut into quarters, and thinly slice. Sprinkle water if apples are dry.

Mix sugar and nutmeg well, then add apples. Adjust sugar per sweetness of apples and desired taste.

Place mixture in 8″ pie dish lined with uncooked pie dough (mixture should be heaping). Dot with butter. Use pie dough to create lattice pattern cover.

Baked 50 to 60 minutes, until crust is nicely browned and apples are cooked through (test with fork – apples should be tender).
